How far would you go to protect your neighborhood, your city? Speaking on rumors of the Trump Administration sending ICE to Philadelphia, TikToker Mrwilliamsprek (Mr. Williams) went to TikTok to give the Administration a bit of a reality check. He describes the general vibe of the city, warts and all, arguing ICE wouldn’t be able to do much in Pennsylvania. To him, it would be like having kittens hanging around in an “alligator-infested swamp.”
“When the Eagles won the Superbowl, they were flipping Honda Civics in the streets like it was a CrossFit gym,” Mr. Williams starts off his rant. In addition to ignoring street signs altogether, “They beat up Santa Claus during a football game,” he says. And it really doesn’t matter if the Eagles and Flyers win or lose!
More importantly, Mr. Williams argues Philly isn’t going to sit idly by while ICE pulls locals out of their cars, tear kids from their families, or straight up kill someone. There’s probably a 99% chance their neighbors were going to watch ‘the game’ with them and ICE is not about to change those plans.
Aside from flipping cars and beating up Santas, Mr. Williams also shares the more protective side of Philadelphia, “where neighbors walk strangers home at night.” And forget having to bother with a security system, says Mr. Williams, because your family and neighbors “know everyone” and “see everything.”
Numerous people, many from Philly, were in Mr. Williams’s comment section on TikTok to further expand on their city’s natural habitat. “Philadelphia is where the revolution started and they haven’t stopped fighting since.”
Another stated, “The only stadium with its own jail.” Not one, but two for fans who got pretty rowdy, one of which had a courtroom, and only serves to boost the credibility of what Mr. Williams’s was saying. The history of Veterans Stadium and Lincoln Financial Field is legendary!
Another joked the people in the city don’t listen well, saying Mayor Cherelle Parker had to publicly beg people to behave, “so Philly took the light poles instead.” Along with clips Mr. Williams showed of people climbing poles during game day, it’s a regular occurrence. Someone actually died doing it, too!
“Philly do your thing! Please DO YOUR Thing!!!” begged another commenter.
Philadelphians are wild when they’re happy, so it’ll be interesting to see how they handle ICE agents roaming their neighborhoods. According to Mr. Williams, it’s akin to a “field trip on consequences.”
