It’s true that you can’t always pick your neighbors, and sometimes, you just have to deal with rude or nosy ones. However, there will sometimes be people that you can’t ever imagine not living just beside you. A woman in Pennsylvania felt this way about her elderly neighbor, checking in on her periodically to ensure she was alright.

However, the elderly woman hadn’t left her house in the three days since it had snowed heavily in the neighborhood to shovel or even move her car. So, her neighbor took it upon herself to check things out and, honestly, it’s wonderful to know how determined she was to ensure her friend was okay.

The above TikTok video was posted by @rherold35, a woman named Rhonda who posts about grocery hauls from restaurants and stores that would have otherwise thrown them away. Her account shows just how dedicated she is to ensuring that the people in her life are taken care of, and this particular instance was no different.

It starts off a little bit scary, with Rhonda explaining that she was going to be checking in on her neighbor, whom she hadn’t seen in nearly three days. Apparently, this particular neighbor would have left her home to shovel or even move her car to a different location after heavy snowfall. However, when Rhonda went to check, there wasn’t even a single footprint outside the home.

Rhonda decided to go up to the door and knock, to which she heard a faint voice, though she was unable to determine if it came from her friend. She decided to call the paramedics, who came in and found the neighbor confused and on the floor, claiming to have just been sleeping.

Various commenters showed up to share their own stories of similar experiences, with one of the top comments saying, “Our neighbors had a plan with their elderly neighbor. She had to raise her blinds by 11 am or the neighbor would use the key and check. Well he noticed one day that she didn’t raise her blinds and he went in and found her on the toilet. She had a stroke. She ended up being ok after some rehab. She was in her 90s living alone. ❤️“

Other commenters were incredibly grateful for Rhonda’s actions, saying, “Proud of you being the caring neighbor.” In an update, the neighbor, whose name is Rosemary, was taken to a hospital and is on her way to recovery from the situation, all thanks to Rhonda’s actions.
