People haven’t been thrilled too much with the overwhelming amount of police pressure lately, on top of the ICE infestation across the US. It’s not like cops have had a good reputation before, but they aren’t really helping their cause these days with their unhelpful behavior. Now, a Massachusetts local warns others of reckless police officers, as one had driven straight through a stop sign and right into their rented SUV.
As an essential nursing home worker who needs their car to get to their workplace, the careless cop left them “carless, very defeated, and also cold.” What happened was that the “oblivious city police officer blows stop sign seemingly hitting the gas instead of break and smashes cruiser into my passenger side,” the victim recalled. “Apparently police are the most unsafe on the road right now. Stay home,” they warn other drivers in their post on r/massachusetts.
“Police officers are the absolute worst drivers,” agreed a commenter. “Police are usually the most unsafe in life, not just roads,” added another individual. “Remember that police officers have immunity for any damage to personal property,” noted a third.

One person shared a photo in the comment section of a cop driving in their area through a blizzard. Despite all the precautions that drivers should be taking, this officer was a prime example of what not to do, riding around with his rear window completely covered in ice and snow. His lights weren’t even on either.
Other commenters pointed out how state plows are also very dangerous on roads, as they do not stop at traffic lights like normal cars. Local police departments are even posting on their Facebook pages, warning people to keep a sharp eye out.
On the flip side, a police officer does have an important job like a plow driver, but that doesn’t give them a pass to forgo the law when it isn’t warranted. And for this Massachusetts driver’s story, there’s no indication that the cop was in an emergency.
