Despite backlash on her previous support of the current administration, Nicki Minaj has made her stance abundantly clear once again. At the launch of the Trump Accounts Summit in D.C., the Pink Friday rapper stood before Trump and delivered a brief speech. Along with supporting MAGA and being a proud follower, she also defended the president before speaking about smear campaigns and bullying.
“I am probably the president’s number one fan,” Minaj says, speaking to the crowd. “And that’s not going to change.” She continues following cheers, saying, “And the ‘hate,’ or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more. And it’s going to motivate all of us to support him more.”
Minaj then shifts gears to address those who aren’t fans of Trump. “We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him, and you know, the smear campaigns, it’s not going to work, okay?” She says. “He has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him. Amen.” During the summit, where CEOs and other companies showed support, Trump announced that Minaj would also donate hundreds of thousands to his campaign.
Heated Backlash From Fans
The new backlash comes not long after the rapper deleted Instagram following a grossly misspoken statement in an interview with Erka Kirk. During the interview, she expressed her belief that Vice President JD Vance and President Trump are role models for young men. Now that Minaj has once again made her stance public, many fans are less than happy to support her views. As the video of her Trump Accounts Summit speech circulates on social media, people are chiming in to share their thoughts on her actions.
On Reddit, one user says, “I just don’t understand how a PERSON OF COLOUR can be a MAGA, like the MAGA HATES EVERYONE OTHER THAN WHITE AMERICAN CHRISTIAN.” Another replied, saying, “Because the common denominator is being a hateful person that wants to see ‘lesser’ people suffer.”
Others comment on her immigration status. “Wow, is she really that desperate to stay in the US? There is a whole world outside of America. This type of shame will be passed on to her children,” says one Redditor. As the comments rolled in, many also said that support for her music will be nonexistent. “After this turn, the number of songs she’d have to sell is probably a non-starter,” comments one user.
