While it’s a bit crude to talk about, toilet paper is definitely a necessity in our modern everyday lives. Considering how essential TP is, it’s expected at this point to be present in every bathroom, public or private, except for one business in LA, California, where an employer refuses to buy it for his workers. Uploading his bathroom predicament to r/mildlyinfuriating, one employee complains how he’s having to bring TP from home since his boss refuses to refill. “I realized after 3 days of asking, I had to bring some from home, I guess,” they remarked.

Before going over how people in the comment section reacted, it’s important to note that not providing toilet paper is illegal and an OSHA violation. Any and all employers must follow sanitary standards for their workplace bathrooms, including toilet paper, soap, and a means to dry their hands. That all being said, the grand majority strongly criticized the boss for being so careless or cheaping out on his own workforce.

“Clear indication you need to replace your employer. Nobody’s that cheap unless they’re worthless or they’re just responding to all the worthless people they hire,” remarked a top commenter of the post. Another responded with how it might be a telltale sign that the company might be close to going under. One person sarcastically added that it might be a good excuse to leave the workplace for a bathroom break: “Sorry boss gotta head to the gas station to take a [expletive]. See ya later.”

A lack of toilet paper isn’t the only thing that OP’s dealing with at work. They also made another post pointing out how green ooze is seeping out of the bathroom. Fortunately, one commenter who experienced a similar issue in their apartment explained the problem: “Glue. They used too much and it didnt dry properly,” they clarified. Of course, this problem would fall more on the people the boss hired to place tile in the bathroom, but still, it’s quite telling, considering the boss is too cheap to buy his team TP.
