We all know there are some brave people out there trying to expose ICE agents for what they are, and even protecting other citizens from their aggressive grasp. Despite their good intentions, their actions can be questionable, especially when there is no evidence that an individual is affiliated with ICE. Not long ago, one citizen in National City, California, decided to chase an ICE officer away from a parking lot. However, he did so in a questionable way that made his heroic antics look a bit cringeworthy.
The video above shows a man trying to chase off an alleged ICE agent from a parking lot in National City, California. We say “alleged” because there are no signs that the person works for this agency or is affiliated with it in any capacity.
In any case, you can see the man outside of the vehicle recording the driver, accusing them of being ICE, and hurling other insults their way. He tells them to leave the area, but instead of letting them drive off, he steps in front of the vehicle. To cause more ruckus, the man starts yelling, “La Migra!” which is a Spanish term many use to refer to ICE and other immigration officers.
When it seems the alleged officer is finally leaving, the man runs back to the front of the vehicle to continue recording and screams “La Migra” once more. This goes on for a while until the driver turns around and finds an opening outside the parking lot. The man who caused all the chaos yells one last time, “Get out of here!” before the video ends.
While it is brave for citizens to stand up against these so-called enforcers of peace, the truth is that there was almost no context or evidence to confirm whether this person was an actual immigration officer. If they were, it is great that people are fighting them, but many believe they should have taken a different approach, such as not standing in front of the vehicle after asking the driver to leave.

In the end, many acknowledged the man’s brave yet questionable efforts to expose this person, assuming they were working for ICE. Still, others believe his actions weren’t ideal; they came off as cringeworthy and even careless, since the one recording could have been hit by a car. Yet, it is always great to see citizens standing up for what’s right.
