It’s fairly common for kids, especially during their teens, to feel and act as if they know better than or can outsmart adults. Unfortunately for them, rarely does their intelligence and intuition outmatch that of fully grown adults. Yet, one young teenager in Texas still wanted to give their best shot at manipulating and possibly intimidating a DoorDasher. She had just finished the delivery when the child messaged her, demanding why their food smelled of smoke. The woman, who doesn’t smoke, tried to be polite with the kid and even poked up that they were trying to scam her, but they didn’t let up.
The Texas DoorDasher posted the whole conversation between her and the obnoxious 14-year-old scammer, whose bratty attitude was very apparent the moment they addressed her as “babe.” “I assume because you are a smoker that you don’t realize how strong those smells are,” adding how they had to put the bag back down because they started “coughing.” They continued, trying to egg a response from her with their poorly articulated messages.
After accusing her of being a smoker multiple times, the teen threw down their “age trump card,” proclaiming that they’re 14 and don’t care about the money since they didn’t pay. While simply reading through the messages is rather mentally taxing, the poor woman had to endure being their Dasher. “The entitlement of kids now days is CRAZY!!” she exclaimed in her Reddit post.
“Aint no way a plastic bag made them start coughing,” said a commenter. “14yr olds are dramatic,” added a second user. “Even when a 14y/o has nothing else, they still have their audacity,” remarked a third. Several others added that the Texas teenage scammer is too young to be using DoorDash, as it’s against the TOS. “Report them for underage user and have their account terminated,” suggested one person.
In the end, it might have been a child using their parent’s account, or they were smoking and were trying to pin the blame on OP, as some commenters assumed. Regardless, that’s one customer’s home address that the DoorDasher will definitely not be returning to.
