There’s no shortage of performers in Las Vegas, but most of the time, all their performances are rehearsed (not that there’s anything bad with that). That’s why one freestyle rapper went viral after he made a banger on the spot, and his inspiration? A Vegas woman being arrested right beside him. The rather surreal interaction has made quite an impression on bystanders, especially since supposedly none of it was staged.
TikTok user TotyaKhava was one of the bystanders impressed by the scene, so much so that she couldn’t let the moment fade to memory. The footage she captured shows freestyle rapper/busker King Trot, who was just performing on the street. Out of nowhere, a couple got arrested, though only the woman can be seen nearby. King Trot couldn’t resist and started singing “girl you’re going to jail tonight.”
The freestyle song even came complete with new rhymes like, “get your butt up outta here, you got me impressed, girl you going to jail, you gotta confess.” Other bystanders also couldn’t help but smirk alongside King Trot, though it’s not clear why the woman or the couple was being arrested. Her screaming pleas to the police got drowned out by the freestyle rap.
TikTok user TotyaKhava swears the incident is genuine, “No actors, just being at the right place at the right time.” That said, it’s worth noting that this is not the first time King Trot freestyled about someone getting arrested near him. In fact, the rapper swears it has happened thrice already; he even admits, “Idk why I keep attracting these situation.” Each time had a different set of freestyle rhymes, of course, with “you’re going to jail tonight” being the chorus.
King Trot Found New Fans
Regardless if you’re aware of how difficult freestyle rap is or not, you can’t deny that King Trot’s improvisation skills are impressive, coming up with rhymes in real-time and sticking them to the beat. Hence, people have praised the freestyle rapper and probably want more of it, “Your freestyle skills are unmatched,” claims one commenter, with another saying, “I do believe we have a banger here!!! 😂.”
Other commenters are pointing out that while the freestyle was funny and the rapper made the arrest seem a lot less violent, they’d be mad if it happened to them: “This would piss me off if I was getting handcuffed,” says a commenter. Some even imagined the woman who got arrested being tormented by the song in her jail cell, “Imagine this song in ringing in your head repeatedly while you’re alone in the cell. Accidentally humming the hook trying to ignore the pain 😭.”
Meanwhile, the other notable times King Trot had to sing a version of the jail song were also in Las Vegas last year, around November, and also in December, when police officers were walking the handcuffed men they arrested. At this rate, King Trot’s jail song might just become the official jingle for the Metro Police in Las Vegas.
