It’s always a joy to see people come together for a good cause, especially if it’s to put an end to someone’s entitled and abusive behavior. Unfortunately, this tale isn’t about stopping corrupt politicians but a stubborn dog owner who refuses to pick up after his dogs in his neighborhood in Hawaii. For years, he let his dogs use his neighbor’s yard as a place to relieve themselves, as well as anywhere else he took them on walks. Regrettably for him, the neighborhood wasn’t going to let him get away with his bullying.
But before we get to the good bit, the neighbor who was harassed for years has provided some extra context on how aggravating this dog owner has been. “I tried being neighborly at first,” he begins in his post on r/mildlyinfuriating. Eventually, he had to get bolder and confront the owner about picking after his dogs. Unsurprisingly, the man refused, so OP began to retaliate: “So I started getting a little more passive-aggressive, leaving poop bags in his mailbox with handwritten notes saying, ‘just a friendly reminder to pick up your dog’s poop.’”
When that didn’t work, OP chucked the dogs’ bagged poo he picked up from his yard onto the owner’s front porch. Eventually, the local police had to get involved, and the dog owner had been cited twice. But that changed nothing; now, OP has felt like it’s hopeless with this neighbor from hell with his dogs. Fortunately, his other neighbors heard about the problematic owner, if they hadn’t experienced his dog’s dookie on their property themselves during his walks. And they weren’t going to take his negligent harassment sitting down.
“Our neighborhood is pretty tight-knit, so many neighbors help pick it up when they notice it on their walks,” OP explains. “We’ve also recently formed what we’re calling the ‘dog brigade,’ where nearly all dogs in the neighborhood poop exclusively in his yard.” Needless to say, the commenters in the Reddit post felt as though even that wasn’t punishment enough for years of abuse from this entitled dog owner.
“Don’t waste bags, get a reusable scooper and use that to toss the [expletive] back in his yard,” suggests a Redditor. “I’d be smearing that all over his house and door knobs,” vulgarly remarked another. “Invest in a catapult … send that [expletive] back at a higher velocity than it was delivered at,” added a third. Funny ways to get revenge aside, if the man hasn’t learned his lesson by then, then more police citations might be the only solution.
