Nothing kills a pizza craving faster than watching the process of how the sausage, or in this case, the dough, is made. A brief pizza break in New York turned into a viral nightmare after a camera zoom revealed a disturbing sight. As of now, it has left the Internet collectively losing its appetite.
A 43-second video posted by an X user shows a worker at a pizzeria, wearing a green-and-black work top and sitting next to a large stainless steel dough mixer. The worker’s bare foot can be seen resting on the push-and-thrust of the mixer.
Another employee nearby is seen kneading dough without display of concern.
The camera pans to the worker, who looks directly back at the person filming, before cutting to the shop’s front counter, where a menu board lists a cheese slice at $3.00.
The user writes that they were in the line to order, and has urged the online community to stay away.
The pizzeria’s name and exact location have not been independently confirmed, and no health department action has been reported in connection with the video.
Internet Reacts to Bare Foot Pizzeria Video in New York
Once the clip made the rounds, the jokes came in faster than a delivery order on a Friday night. One commenter couldn’t resist a pun, writing, “I know inflation is bad, but nobody asked for the foot-long treatment on a dollar slice. The health inspector is going to have a field day with this one.” Another took a more suspicious tone, warning, “You never know what else is going on in the kitchen!!”
Plenty of people went straight for the gross-out angle. “Imagine the smell of his feet,” one viewer wrote, while someone else leaned into full sarcasm with, “This is the secret ingredient of NY pizza success.”
A few commenters said the video was enough to send them back to their own kitchens for good, with one writing, “This is the type of video that makes people start cooking at home. Imagine seeing this after you’ve already eaten there.”
Not everyone piled on. One commenter offered the kitchen the benefit of the doubt, joking, “It’s ok, he was just trimming his toenails.”
As of now, there has been no public statement from the pizzeria or any New York health agency addressing the video, and it’s not known whether or not an inspection has been initiated.
