Furious Florida Man Flips Out at Olive Garden Worker Allegedly Using Phone While He Waited: ‘Customers Come in Here, They’re First. The Telephone Is Second’

When picking up an order, a little patience goes a long way, especially when the restaurant is busy. Recently, a man in Orlando, Florida, became irate while picking up his order at Olive Garden after a worker assisted a customer on the phone, leading to a heated confrontation caught on camera by another patron. It turns out the patron was a TikToker who happened to be filming at the time, and footage of the incident is now circulating online.

The heated exchange unfolds at the Olive Garden counter, involving the angry Florida man at the center of the incident and an employee who had just been assisting a customer on the phone. Sporting camo shorts and a white T-shirt, the man is giving the female employee behind the counter a piece of his mind, as he yells, “Customers come in here, they’re first. The telephone is second. The most important person in the restaurant is the person in front of you.”

It quickly becomes clear his outburst was triggered by having to wait while the employee assisted a customer on the phone. Although additional context from the caption of the video does suggest that the employee may’ve also been attempting to fix a computer that was not working properly, which caused the slight delay.

Continuing on, the man snaps, “You told me to wait. The order was sat there the whole time. I’m sitting right here for three [expletive] minutes and you’re on the phone.” However, there’s a plot twist, as the TikToker who is recording and witnessing the incident — a.world.of.ash — chimes in to refute the man’s claims.

“You’re such a liar. I just saw you walk in two minutes ago. You’re an [expletive].” declares the influencer. This doesn’t sit too well with the Florida man who hurls insults at the woman, before exiting the premises. As the man leaves, the entire restaurant bursts into laughter due to the sheer awkwardness and bizarreness of the rude encounter.

While the original video cannot be found on her channel anymore, she did post a brief follow-up that gives a little more context. In it, the TikToker is sat eating some soup, and a caption reads as follows:

Reactions to the heated exchange have largely criticized the irate Florida man at the center of the incident. On Reddit, one user penned, “Everyone laughing at him as he’s leaving was pure gold.” while another added, “He had to wait 3 minutes. Three minutes. 180 seconds. He doesn’t have many left.” A third commenter, meanwhile, expressed, “Entitlement like this can only last so long. Either someone is going to get tired of his [expletive], or his heart will.” On TikTok, one netizen wrote, “I’m so glad you stood up for that lady. She looked hurt. LOVE YOUR COMEBACKS 🫶🏽”
