This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information.

Headed into E3 2018 one of the pressing questions was whether Microsoft would deliver or not. After struggling regarding exclusives and games in general for the most recent generation, it would be pivotal for them to steal the show at the biggest gaming show of the year.

While the conference is nowhere near over, Xbox and Microsoft have certainly proven that they arenโ€™t going to be third place – in the race between Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 – without putting up a fight. At E3 2018 Microsoft showcased more than 50 games, including 18 console launch exclusives and 15 world premieres. Below is a list of all of the announced titled.

  • Battlefield V (Electronic Arts)
  • Black Desert (Pearl Abyss)

  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider (Square Enix)
  • Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition (Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc)
  • The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit (Square Enix).
  • Tom Clancyโ€™s The Division 2 (Ubisoft)
  • Tunic (Finji)

We Happy Few (Compulsion Games, Gearbox Publishing)

Alongside these games, Microsoft has also revealed it will be doubling its game development studios. Five new teams will be added to the family: The Initiative, Playground Games (Forza Horizon 4), Ninja Theory (Hellblade), Undead Labs (State of Decay 2), and Compulsion Games (We Happy Few).

โ€œThere has never been a more exciting time to be part of the gaming industry, with creators large and small showcasing incredible new games for the more than two billion players around the world,” said Phil Spencer, head of Gaming at Microsoft. “At Microsoft, we are committed to empowering gamers to play the games they want, with the people they want, where they want.”

New games and studios arenโ€™t all though, as Microsoft revealed some other new updates users can expect soon. Xbox Game Pass will be expanding its catalog, adding fan favorites like Fallout 4 and Tom Clancyโ€™s The Division. System wise, the new feature known as FastStart will prioritize and boot up titles two times as fast once its introduced.

Only time will tell as to whether Xbox โ€œWonโ€ E3 this year, as the Sony and Nintendo conferences are yet to come, but the issues many had with Microsoft before the conference seem to have been addressed.
