A woman in Los Angeles, California, claims she was mistreated at a boutique, saying employees not only ignored her but even laughed at her because she is 4’11” tall. Lizeth Bravo shared the story on TikTok, where she is seen about to cry following the incident.

@lifewithlizeth

@Aritzia I have never ever experienced this before. I drive down to LA all the time specifically to shop at Aritzia and this time I went for my birthday. I was so excited to buy some new pieces for spring and loved so many pieces I tried on. And the entire time no one was helping me. They were helping everyone else next to me besides myself. I asked for help and was ignored. I wanted their opinion on the shirt and instead I caught them looking at me laughing because I cuffed the jeans and was standing on my tip toes because I’m 4’11. I felt so embarrassed every time I had to walk out to look into the mirror that I decided to prop my phone up inside the dressing room to look in there. What drew the line for me was actually catching two people, who are suppose to style and support you, starring and laughing at me. I LOVED those jeans and SO many other pieces, but I grabbed one item and left because I wanted to cry and was so embarrassed. #fyp #aritzia #aritziaoutfits #beverlyhills #bullied

Lizeth is a lifestyle and travel content creator who often vlogs her day-to-day adventures. This latest clip, however, is her biggest, garnering 4.3 million views, 397,300 likes, and more than 5,000 comments.

The California woman, while fighting back tears, said in the clip that she was at Aritzia, a boutique clothing store. According to her, she was looking for some new spring clothes, but, unfortunately, no one at the store helped her.

“They were helping everyone else next to me, besides myself,” Lizeth wrote in her TikTok’s description. “I asked for help and was ignored.”

At some point, Lizeth tried some jeans, but she had to cuff them and stand on her tiptoes since she is 4’11’. That’s when she claimed she saw the Aritzia employees looking and laughing at her.

“This has never happened to me,” the California woman said.

In the end, Lizeth, even though she really liked multiple clothing items at the store, only grabbed one item and left.

Clip Sparks Debate, Store Responds

The clip sparked multiple responses, some of them heated.

Some users chose to bash the clothing store employees, with one viewer commenting, “That’s why you shop at Aritzia, and they work at Aritzia!” Another user agreed, saying, “They work retail. Don’t let THEM get to you.”

A small number of viewers criticized Lizeth for her reaction, with one writing, “Crying over this is wild.” Finally, some even told her to stand up for herself, with another commenter saying, “Ma’am, we are adults. Speak up when disrespected. Don’t let yourself get belittled and bullied.”

Thousands more commented on her clip, all thanks to a story that is prone to spark outrage, especially in a context such as Lizeth’s. This and the back and forth between people criticizing and defending the California woman led to her clip’s virality.

In the end, as evidenced by their comment and a recent follow-up, Aritizia apologized to Lizeth for the incident. The incident was escalated, and they offered her a styling appointment, which she declined.
