As many might know, today’s gas prices hit a new high, but the state of Indiana is seeing prices reach $4.79 per gallon. While some are still coming to terms with the sudden cost increase, others are not really that shocked anymore, believing we might see costs of $5 soon, or even higher.
This picture was shared today by Reddit user HomeSoftWash, who captured the gas prices at a station between Granger and South Bend. As you can see in the picture, the gallon for regular gas is now going for $4.79, which is way more expensive than last month. Some states in March were still oscillating between $3 to $4, but now, it is almost reaching the five-dollar mark, and while many are worried, some are just looking for ways to get by.
Despite the nationwide concern for these costs, there are still people out there who believe that this is the right path and that Trump’s plans are liked across the country. Yet, there are some residents who are still complaining about this sudden shift and a few others who are looking for new tactics to save some money or even considering purchasing an electric vehicle, as that seems the cheapest alternative.
Redditors React to New Gas Prices
While it is certainly shocking to see the cost of a gallon border on five dollars, some people believe this is the new norm and that it will remain as such for a while. Some even made fun of the thread, claiming that we should all be thanking the government, which is something that spawned from JD Vance’s comments.

A few others have taken different measures, now trying to look to other gas stations to fill up their tanks before the next price hike.

There are reports from other people in the Reddit thread that, in some cities, prices are still below four dollars. However, given how volatile the cost increases have been lately, we could expect prices to shift again overnight.
