The leash resembles one typically used for a dog, including visible spikes. At one point, she hands him her bag and instructs him to hold it. He complies, holding the bag and nodding repeatedly.
Several bystanders gathered around the pair, with some filming the situation as it unfolded. One spectator can be heard saying, “Get your [expletive] up man,” while reacting in disbelief. The woman then began walking away while holding the leash, appearing to pull on it as the man followed.
Another part of the video appears to show the same man later inside a car, no longer wearing a leash. In that clip, he makes comments that some viewers felt contrasted with his earlier behavior. “This has to be the worst generation of men ever,” he said, adding that he believed men are no longer capable of building things or protecting women.
“The worst part about it is we got men submitting to women. You supposed to be a leader. How can you expect to lead a woman if you’re getting down on your knees begging a [expletive] to stay with you,” he added. He also said that he would never get on his knees for a woman. However, by the end of the video, he is again seen inside the mall on his hands and knees while the woman sits on his back, which many viewers noted appeared to contradict his earlier statements.
