A man in Savannah, Georgia, ordered a Nintendo Switch 2. Fully believing he was about to experience a top-notch gaming experience after both products were delivered, he was surprised to find neither of them at his doorstep. Camera footage then shows the delivery driver allegedly taking the package, and the man is now accusing Walmart of stealing his goods.

The man’s name is Matthew Hunt. Since he didn’t use TikTok at the time, he convinced a friend of his to share the clip on her account. Casey, also known as 99centburrito, shared the video, and it went viral, garnering 709,000 views, 84,200 likes, and more than 7,600 comments in about a day.

According to the Georgia man, he ordered a Nintendo Switch 2 and Pokémon Pokopia from a local Walmart. Eventually, he was notified that they had been delivered. However, once he opened the door, no package was in sight. Fearing there might have been a mix-up, his landlord eventually contacted him and shared a clip.

Matthew showed the clip in question, which shows the delivery driver placing the package on his porch, only for him to pick it back up and leave.

“I was, like, enraged, irritated, like, beyond,” he said.

No Refund

Matthew then contacted Walmart, which told him they were going to carry out an investigation. Despite the video evidence, customer service told him to keep his expectations low, and even refused to see the clip, the Georgia man said.

He decided to file a report with the Savannah Police Department (SPD). They were “shocked,” Matthew said, but there was “only so much” that they could do to find the delivery driver. Especially, Matthew alleged, since Walmart is not helping the SPD in their investigation.

Matthew then went to the Walmart store. Everyone who talked to him was very friendly, but there was nothing they could do for him at the store. Then, he received multiple emails, in which he was told that, since the package was marked as “delivered,” a refund was not possible.

“This is absolutely ridiculous,” said Matthew, who had waited for a solution for 13 days at the time of recording the clip, but to no avail.

Online Reactions

The video sparked multiple responses online.

Some viewers blasted Walmart, with one saying, “Multi-billion dollar company btw.” Another one commented, “They could absolutely refund you in that store.”

Other users told Matthew to take action. One user wrote, “File with your credit card company. You have the evidence.” Another one added, “Contact a local news station. They’ll do a story on it, and then Walmart will do something.”

In a follow-up clip, the Georgia man said that someone at Walmart reached out to him. According to him, a resolution is on the way. Meanwhile, he bought another Nintendo Switch 2 and Pokopia, and he is currently enjoying both items thoroughly.
