A Kroger store in Georgia is going viral online after shoppers shared the bizarre experience they say keeps happening inside the grocery store.

According to multiple social media posts, particularly from TikTok user Richard Trickle and others, customers reported being forced to deal with massive checkout lines, overcrowded self-checkout areas, and few open registers during busy shopping hours. Some shoppers even described the experience as “chaotic” and “ridiculous.”

One viral complaint showed customers lined up deep into the aisles while only a handful of checkout stations appeared to be operating. Another shopper claimed nearly 40 people were waiting for just a few self-checkout machines at a Georgia location.

The complaints quickly sparked reactions online, with many people accusing Kroger of relying too heavily on self-checkout systems while not staffing enough employees inside stores.

Shoppers Said the Store Felt Completely Chaotic

Much of the online frustration centered on how long customers allegedly had to wait just to pay for groceries.

Several shoppers claimed the lines stretched across large portions of the store while employees struggled to keep up with the crowds. Others said the experience felt more stressful than convenient, especially for people buying large amounts of groceries.

One Georgia shopper previously went viral after saying they were forced to bag hundreds of dollars worth of groceries “on the floor” because of overcrowded self-checkout areas and limited space.

The situation has fueled growing criticism online surrounding grocery stores pushing customers toward self-checkout while reducing traditional cashier lanes.

Social Media Users Had Plenty To Say About the Viral Complaints

“Kroger has become self-checkout survival mode,” one person joked online.

Another user wrote, “I’m doing employee work while paying higher grocery prices.”

A third viewer added, “Every Kroger in Georgia feels like this now.”

Kroger has previously responded to viral complaints involving long checkout lines by apologizing to customers and requesting additional information about specific store locations.

As the complaints continue spreading online, many shoppers say the viral posts perfectly capture the frustrating reality of grocery shopping lately.
