A woman in Grayson, Georgia, decided to get some food at a local pizza shop. After the shop got her order wrong, according to her, she ended up with an uncooked, uncut pie. When she complained about it, the restaurant’s owner allegedly mistreated her with racist remarks.
Jada, also known as jadathedoll, shared the story on TikTok. She is a cosplay content creator and has a large following on social media. This recent incident, however, quickly became one of her biggest videos, garnering 1.7 million views, 311,100 likes, and more than 4,400 comments.
According to the Georgia woman, she visited Fratelli’s, a Grayson pizza shop, to get a pie for her and her husband. Things didn’t look great from the get-go, Jada said, as the lady behind the counter didn’t get her order right. This led to a 20 to 40-minute delay in receiving her actual order.
Jada then went home and was shocked to see the pizza’s state. She said, “The pizza was not only not cut, but it wasn’t cooked.” As a result, she went back to Fratelli’s and complained about her uncooked, uncut pizza, asking for a refund.
Suddenly, a random man, allegedly Danny, who owns the pizza shop, came up to Jada. She explained the whole situation to him and complained.
He responded, according to the Georgia woman, by telling her, “You need to calm down. This ain’t the streets.”
Jada then said that the man would go on to repeat this over and over again, with her calling it a racist remark. Visibly upset, the woman added that she had never experienced anything of the kind. She, however, didn’t have her phone at the time to record the incident.
Full-Blown Backlash
The video sparked multiple responses online.
A sizeable number of users not only reacted to Jada’s clip, but also flooded Fratelli’s social media accounts and review bombed the business. One viewer commented, “Such a dehumanizing experience. I’m so sorry, girl.” Another one wrote, “Press charges and sue due to discrimination.”
Other users, however, struggled to find issues with the man’s alleged comments. One person said, “Maybe it was because you were being rude when you came in.” Another one added, “I don’t know. This seems a bit much.” Both comments, however, were showered with criticism.
In a follow-up clip, Jada stated that she didn’t believe the man’s comment was racially motivated, but stereotypical. She also detailed that she received a refund for the pizza. Fratelli’s, meanwhile, has not addressed the accusations.
