New York Man Caught on Video Making Racist Remarks at Suffolk County Park: ‘If You Have to Explain That You Aren’t Racist, You Are Probably Racist’

A bad look

Racism is a destructive force that tears at the fabric of communities, fostering fear, division, and lasting harm that extends far beyond a single incident. Unfortunately, racism remains at historically high levels in the United States, with long-term data showing a sustained increase in reported hate-related incidents over the past decade. With that in mind, a New York man was caught on video going off on an angry racist tirade about how “White people come first” at a park in Suffolk County. The footage is circulating online right now.

No! I’m not a racist!

It remains unclear what prompted the racist remarks, though the New York man appeared visibly angry. Sporting a black body warmer, a black jumper, and black pants, the man can be heard, angrily yelling, “White people come [expletive] first! Understand that. Then, the [expletive] minorities come. Okay? Yeah, yeah. The minorities.”

The bystander filming the incident then asks, “So, you’re not a racist, you’re telling me?” In response, the man angrily fires back, “No, I’m not a [expletive] racist! I’m not a [expletive] racist!” which ends the clip. With over 20.8K likes on Instagram, the video is garnering a lot of attention online, as social media users flock to the comments to air their thoughts.

Over on Instagram, many users criticised the man’s hateful views, with one penning, “SEND THIS TO HIS EMPLOYER 👋” and another adding, “Native Américan came FIRST!!!” A third commenter tried to pinpoint where the incident took place, speculating, “Average staten islander” though the OP responded and clarified, “Close. Suffolk County“. Meanwhile, over on Reddit, one netizen thoughtfully declared, “If you have to explain that you aren’t racist, you are probably racist.” and another chipped in with, “One race should be prioritized above all others, but I’m not racist.“

Ultimately, this clip is a reminder that prejudice and intolerance can surface anywhere, and communities must remain vigilant against hate.
