During her trip to a wedding, a woman stumbled upon an amputee sitting out in a Walmart parking lot in Grants Pass, Oregon, protesting in support of President Trump. She had stopped to charge her EV and noticed “this amputee out in the hot sun, puffing a cigarette and silently displaying his Trump 2024 and American flags.” She pointed out that, since Grants Pass is allegedly “red-leaning,” it’s hard to understand why this man would do this.
“In Grants Pass, he’s just preaching to the choir,” remarked Laquintessenceofdust, the Reddit user who shared a photo of the Trump supporter amputee on r/pics. Other commenters chimed in to her post, claiming that they’ve seen this man before, doing the same thing. “I saw him there when I drive through there too, it was the hottest day of the year and over 100 degrees,” wrote a user.
The Oregon Resident Has Allegedly Been Showing His Support for Trump for Years
Another commenter claimed that the amputee used to be his neighbor. “He has been doing this for YEARS,” the individual wrote, saying how the Walmart parking lot has become his new spot to sit and display his support. “He used to wave at people. I never spoke to him…But it cracks me up because he’s so out of touch,” the commenter continued. Other people expressed a similar sentiment, with some mocking the man’s support.
“[He] could be seriously mentally ill,” said a Redditor. “Probably blames Biden when he has to wait 8 hours to be seen at the VA. Gonna be pissed when he finds out he’s been kicked off Medicaid by his idol,” laughed another. “I am continually astonished by the ability of some people to so confidently embarrass themselves like this,” said a third.
Dozens upon dozens more accused the Oregon resident of not being of sound mind, even though there’s no evidence he was going out of his way to bother anyone besides his silent protest. In today’s age of heated political conflict across the country, even the most peaceful protestors are vulnerable to harsh criticism, regardless of side.
