A woman in California who went shopping at Montebello Mall claimed she caught a man allegedly recording her while she was changing inside a dressing room. She shared a video on TikTok where she confronted the stranger, accusing him of filming her without consent and threatening to call the police. As of the time of writing, the clip has gained over a hundred thousand views and left many netizens infuriated.
According to the woman, while she was changing, she saw through a mirror reflection that the man’s phone appeared to be positioned near an opening at the bottom of the fitting room door and believed he was using it to record her. The video she posted later shows her confronting whom she claims to be the perpetrator.
The two got into a brief scuffle when the man appeared to rush toward her phone, seemingly attempting to knock it away. Another individual intervened and moved the man aside before the situation escalated further. The woman said the man ran off shortly afterward.
In the comments, the woman claimed that she, at one point, took the man’s phone to delete any alleged recordings, though it remains unclear whether she managed to do so. She also stated that she eventually filed a police report regarding the incident.
