Technology often glitches and tends to affect users of certain appliances, devices, or even services. And while some of these technical hiccups tend to be an annoyance to many, there are a few that don’t look too bad, and some would even wish they were true. Right now, we’re referring to a glitch that happened in several gas stations across Maryland, where for a couple of moments, the price per gallon appeared as 45 cents. While many residents knew this was too good to be true, some others were praying for something like this to become a reality, especially with how expensive gas is nowadays.
The picture comes from user PlayAction88, who shared it on the Maryland subreddit. According to them, this gas station glitched and displayed the price of Regular Unleaded gas as 0.45. This eyebrow-raising moment excited several drivers, until some of them spotted the 9/10 next to it, which gave the glitch away.
Also, it seems this glitch was almost statewide, as some other users reported it elsewhere, and it appears to have affected stations with a 7-Eleven.
As you can see, user Kellylaneb also shared a picture with the same price in Hampstead, suggesting it might have been something that affected all gas stations’ systems for a while.
Despite it being a technical issue, several residents were hoping this would come true, as many believe gas prices have skyrocketed and will likely continue to do so.
Maryland Residents Enjoy a Brief Moment of Excitement Over Gas Station Glitch
Despite many being too excited about this and hoping it would come true, others started making fun of how much more expensive gas is. A few even said that Trump will likely see this glitch as something of his making and talk about it soon.
“Waiting for Trump to repost this lol.“
Others joked that the glitch was actually showing a much higher gas price, which many didn’t find too far-fetched, given the recent situation.
“Plot twist, it’s actually $10.45.“
Lastly, some were worried about the workers in the establishment, as some people tend to demand the price that a glitch shows at that moment, which would likely cause statewide mayhem.
“God, as someone who works at a Royal Farms, it’s gonna be bad if that glitch happens cause I work the register and I’m gonna get screamed at because of false advertising.“
In the end, it seems the glitch didn’t last long, but many are still hoping that gas prices reach this low one day.
