A woman in Florida is currently facing backlash after she said in a video that she took her son to swim in a private pool without receiving permission or paying any fees.
The woman shared a video of herself and her son swimming in a private pool. In the clip, she said she was off work that day, and her son was not in school. She then admitted that the pool they were using was not theirs. According to her, they had come there simply to relax and chill.
The woman then said she had brought a friend with her “this time,” suggesting that she had done something similar before. She claimed she had warned her friend not to come to the pool without her because she knew how to gain access. “They don’t even know we don’t live here,” she added.
Another part of the video showed the woman dancing with her son inside the pool. She also sang and said, “chilling at they pool.” On-screen text added to the clip read, “We love amenities that we don’t pay for,” while the caption of the post said, “I love their pool.”
Viewers Criticize Florida Woman After Pool Video
The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers criticized the Florida woman after the video circulated, arguing that she was using a private amenity without permission. Some commenters expressed frustration, saying she was taking advantage of facilities meant for paying residents. “Pool is ruined,” one person wrote. Another added, “I pay 1500 and you think you about to ENJOY MY POOL ABSOLUTELY NOT.”
Others defended the woman, arguing that amenities like pools are sometimes underused by paying residents. One person wrote, “I pay $3600 a year and never have time, so enjoy it on my behalf momma.” However, others pushed back on that view and explained why the situation still caused frustration. One commenter said, “Because we work full time jobs in an economy that barely covers the rent WE pay for a gated pool…that we barely have time to enjoy ourselves.. we PAY for an amenity as everyone else should have to do if they want the same luxuries.”
The video sparked discussion about property rights and the use of shared or private amenities, with many viewers debating issues of access and entitlement. It also led to broader conversations about respecting other people’s property and the importance of discouraging unauthorized use of facilities.
