A woman in Florida drew criticism online after sharing a video of herself confronting and attacking a man whom she believed was a member of Karmelo Anthony’s jury, despite the trial having taken place in Texas.

Karmelo Anthony was found guilty in a highly publicized trial and sentenced to 35 years in prison. Since the verdict was announced, tensions between some of his supporters and critics have fueled heated arguments online and in person. In some cases, those tensions have allegedly escalated into confrontations and personal attacks. Recently, a man filmed himself punching a veteran after mistakenly believing he was part of Anthony’s jury. A similar incident later drew attention when a woman in Florida shared a video of herself confronting another man over the same mistaken belief.

Yet another black person in Florida has viciously attacked a White person in a racially motivated assault while accusing him of being on the jury that convicted Karmelo Anthony.

In the video, the woman approached a man who was sitting down and called out to him. After reaching him, she pushed him before asking whether he had been part of the jury selection process. The man responded with profanity. “Were you on jury selection?” she asked again. “No, I wasn’t,” the man replied.

As the man continued denying that he had been involved in Anthony’s jury, the woman repeatedly insisted that he had been. The video ended with the man calling her a “[expletive] Black [expletive].” Although the video was later removed from the woman’s Facebook account, copies of it continued circulating online and have since gone viral across multiple social media platforms.

Viewers Criticize Florida Woman Following Attack

The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers criticized the Florida woman for confronting and attacking a man who denied having any involvement with Anthony’s jury. Because of the racial aspects of the incident and the tensions surrounding the trial, many of the reactions online were highly controversial. “The only thing they understand is violence. Be ready to fight back and defend yourself at all times around them,” one person wrote. Another person said, “Notice how they keep doing it to homeless white people. I bet nobody gonna come up to me and do that [expletive] and if they do it’ll be the last thing they do.”

More people posted controversial reactions. One person wrote, “Hey white people of Florida! Wake up you are being targeted. If you are within arm length of a Black person, your life is in jeopardy.” Another person said, “LOL a race of people so tired of what they feel is racism towards them decides to solve it by being racist. Peak [expletive] thinking.” The comments reflected the opinions of the individuals posting them and contributed to broader debates about race, accountability, and the incident itself.

The video sparked discussion about confrontations and inappropriate behavior that have occurred following the verdict in the Karmelo Anthony trial. It also led to broader conversations about racism, racial tensions, and concerns that prejudice can be directed toward people of different backgrounds, with many arguing that such behavior should be condemned regardless of who is targeted.
