A video was posted to TikTok by a woman who is accusing the manager of a bar in New York City, New York, of slapping a friend of hers in the face. According to her account, the slap wasn’t warranted in any way. Plenty of viewers jumped into the comments to share their opinions on the situation, with some offering legal advice and others claiming the whole thing was made up for attention.

The TikTok video above shows the woman standing in front of a bar called Reservoir, with cheers in the background after the Knicks won. She explains that she had been waiting with a friend for a seat at the bar when they were told they weren’t allowed in.

However, after that, the manager of the bar allegedly slapped her friend in the face, completely unprovoked. To further call out the strangeness of the situation, she explains that she was not intoxicated to the point of being belligerent, and hadn’t been displaying any particular behaviors that would have warranted the slap.

Despite her claims, there is no physical evidence that this happened. In fact, there doesn’t seem to be anyone else who is also upset about this. When it came to commenters, many advised her to seek legal counsel, especially given the likelihood that security cameras captured the moment.

One of the very top comments reads, “File a police report btw. They definitely have cameras.”

Reactions to Woman Allegedly Being Slapped By Bar Manager

While various people in this woman’s comments are providing advice, others are informing her that the bar’s own TikTok page appears to be doing damage control. One commenter wrote, “looks like Reservoir’s PR team is trying to do damage control by having bots write in the comments that she’s lying.”

While I was unable to locate any comments alluding to this on the bar’s official TikTok page, I did find a screenshot taken in which the bar responds with, “Hey sooo to clarify everyone, 1. Person that slapped her friend was NOT a manager 2. was not on staff last night 3. The person slapped was a man not a woman.”

Currently, neither the bar nor the video’s original poster has commented publicly on the incident. As of right now, TikTok users continue to flood the comments section with their opinions and frustrations.
