There are few things as worrying as a stranger showing up at one’s home, which is why a Florida couple was terrified when a woman appeared at their front door, wielding a huge knife. An oversized blade wasn’t the only thing this alleged random woman was carrying. In a video shared on r/Weird by Chance-Life-3039, the threat can be seen at the couple’s door with a shovel and baseball bat as well.
“This is one of the craziest things I’ve ever experienced,” Chance-Life-3039 remarked, explaining how he and his wife go to bed early due to their work. As his wife was heading out for her shift, she was horrified when she discovered a baseball bat and a knife left behind by the woman later seen in their security footage. “We checked our cameras and pretty much immediately called the cops. No idea who this person is,” OP wrote.
Unfortunately, the footage wasn’t enough to convince some Redditors that the couple had faced a threat at their home. Several online users accused Chance-Life-3039 of posting an AI-generated video or sharing a fake, possibly staged, camera recording. Luckily, a good number of people did believe the Florida couple’s account and shared their concerns over the knife, bat, and shovel-wielding woman.
Reddit Believed the Florida Woman Might Have Been Mentally Ill or Even Sleepwalking
“The strange gaze and how she moved her head, I would assume it’s some sort of mental health illness/distress. Good on you for calling cops,” remarked a commenter. “Holy! I’d be freaked out!” exclaimed a second. Others chimed in with their theories, saying that the woman might have been sleepwalking or suffering from psychosis. “The way she is holding that knife, luckily you guys didn’t open the door,” sighed a Redditor.
At the end of the video Chance-Life-3039 shared of the alleged unhinged Florida woman, OP claims, “She said ‘ayy dios,’ which translates to ‘oh god,’” implying she’s of Hispanic ethnicity. The husband updated the post in the comments, uploading a screenshot of the police as extra proof that the woman was indeed there and did leave behind her melee weaponry.
In the end, Chance-Life-3039 didn’t report whether the police found the woman or her connection with him and his wife. One thing’s for sure, though, discovering “objects that could potentially kill you are just neatly placed outside your door” is bound to leave anyone shaken and paranoid for weeks if not months, to come.
