She was making deliveries for Amazon when a homeowner’s Ring camera caught her stealing a package while dropping off another. But before she made off with another person’s property, the woman stared straight into the camera and still stole without hesitation. Whether it was truly boldness or a lack of common sense, her behavior shocked many on Reddit.
Low_Mark, the Reddit user who shared their Ring camera’s footage on r/amazonprime, explained how they had contacted Amazon customer service over the delivery woman’s theft. She dropped off a package, “exchanging” it with the guitar cable sitting at the door before leaving. “This is not a mistake or a misunderstanding. This is theft,” Low_Mark explains, pointing out how they also have footage of the deliveryman who initially put the cable in front of the door.
A commenter remarked how they couldn’t believe why a person would do this, especially considering all the security surveillance people have these days. Needless to say, no one believes Amazon would let this woman keep her job, not after she’s been ‘caught in 4K.’ “It is outrageously stupid… not to mention the brick of a Ring camera on my door is extremely obvious. Thought it was just going to be there as a deterrent,” Low_Mark wrote in response.
The Colorado Homeowner Claimed Amazon Didn’t Even Care About the Footage of the Theft
“She was looking dead into it! God the stupidity!” exclaimed another Redditor in agreement. A third commenter found it concerning that Amazon allegedly could have cared less about the camera footage, according to OP. “It was surprising how disinterested they were,” Low_Mark said. “Let them know you would like this taken very seriously and investigated,” the user demanded.
Other people believe, based on how boldly the woman acted, that she has been doing this for a while, but either has yet to be caught or reported to Amazon. One person claimed she might have been a fake delivery courier just cosplaying the vest; however, OP verified that the package she dropped off, plus the confirmation photo she took, was for a real Amazon delivery.
While several people also suggest the Colorado homeowner contact the police over this woman’s crime, plenty more feel as though both the authorities and Amazon couldn’t care less about a petty thief. What many found more shocking than that was how brazenly the woman stole what wasn’t hers, even with a camera staring her right in the face.
