The teacher in question, who goes by Disgruntled_Veteran on Reddit, posted about his folly to r/Teachers, where he explained that he typically doesn’t check email during vacation time. However, during a spontaneous browsing session, an email labeled with the alarming words “Medical Emergency” caught his attention.
The caring teacher that he is, Disgruntled_Veteran remarked, “I saw that it was from the mother of one of my students, and I was concerned about my student’s well-being. So I opened the email like a fool.” Needless to say, it was not about his student’s health. The email instead began with “Now that I have your attention…”
The mother had allegedly sent a tirade to the teacher about why she believed her 6th-grade daughter didn’t deserve a “B.” Frustrated and betrayed, Disgruntled_Veteran forwarded the email to the school’s principal. “I am seriously considering composing an email with the header ‘Mr. Teacher’s Horrific Car Accident.’ Then chew them out over lying about a medical emergency,” he joked, though tens of thousands of Redditors believed it not to be a bad idea.
