With so many stories online of people’s DoorDash orders being stolen, it’s easy to imagine why Tennessee customer AphroSpritualLove was ready to unleash her fury on her suspicious driver. In her story on r/doordash, she explained how she’d ordered a bottle of wine that didn’t make it to her home. The reason was that her delivery driver reported her for being underage, even though she’s in her twenties and has ordered alcohol before.
“He never came to my apartment and never looked at my ID,” AphroSpritualLove recalled, who was understandably outraged at the time. Needless to say, she wasn’t going to let her driver get away with abusing the underage report. She called DoorDash and was “ready to raise absolute hell.”
However, a visit the next day changed her attitude about everything, causing her to go from “wanting a driver investigated to calling DoorDash and asking them, ‘PLEASE, don’t fire him.’” Someone randomly knocked on her door, and lo and behold, it was the same driver from the day prior, bringing her the wine she’d ordered.

“And then this man tells me that HE HAD A BABY YESTERDAY AND HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL,” AphroSpritualLove exclaimed. Apparently, he panicked and made the poor decision to report her out of desperation, just so he could escape the order at the time. AphroSpritualLove reassured Reddit in the comments that the bottle’s slea had not been tampered with, leading her to believe the driver wasn’t lying.
“I genuinely don’t think I could have predicted the ending to this story if you gave me 100 guesses,” OP sighed, saying that she called DoorDash again, pleading that they wouldn’t penalize the driver. He wasn’t, and dozens of Redditors were delighted to hear such a lovely end to an initially dicey alcohol delivery.
“That’s actually so wholesome!” exclaimed a commenter. “That’s actually an awesome story, never heard of anything like this happening,” admitted another. “Both of you Rock. Nice to see good people work things out,” praised a third.
A handful of people were rather suspicious of the DoorDasher, considering he falsely accused AphroSpritualLove of being underage to get out of the order. She responded in agreement, saying how he certainly could have handled the order better.
