A woman in Dallas, Texas, was recording a TikTok inside her car when, suddenly, one of her car windows randomly cracked. The internet spiraled, seeking an explanation, and the woman eventually provided one: it appears that something struck her car.
The eight-second clip was shared online by Ieisha Hailey and garnered three million views, 154,800 likes, and more than 2,000 comments. The Texas woman was in the middle of recording a TikTok post about emotional neglect while sitting in her car, but her sentence was cut short. A bang accompanied her window instantly cracking, but not fully shattered.
After posting the whole clip, unedited, Ieisha would later upload a follow-up in which she tried to explain what had occurred, although she also had many questions left unanswered.
“I’m just assuming that it was a rock at this point,” she said. “I don’t have any definitive proof of what it was, but I’m assuming it was a rock.”
Her rock theory seemed to make sense. According to her, there was a man who was doing yard work at the time, and while “not super close,” he did pass by when the cracking occurred. In another follow-up, Ieisha showed her car at a dealership. She detailed that employees were writing up a report and noted that there was, in fact, an impact, confirming her rock theory.
Reactions
The eight-second video sparked multiple responses, many of which were from shocked users trying to find an explanation. One said, “It was the hair tie on the visor…” Another one commented, “Call corporate of whatever car brand you have and tell them what happened. It might be a recall if it just shattered by itself.”
Others, however, took the opportunity to be funny. One wrote, “Safelife Repair, Safelife Replace.” Another one added, “The Lord has never been louder about staying silent.” A third one said, “Stop telling your business. Is what that means.”
According to the Texas woman, she is planning on getting the auto dealership report and taking it to the landscaping company. Hopefully, they will cover the window replacement.
