A TikTok video has gone viral after Utah writer Eli McCann shared a rather odd story about getting two windows in his home replaced. The incident was so odd that McCann felt the need to tell his side of what happened.

Commenters mainly agreed with McCann in the replies to the video, with some even disclosing their own similar experiences with the same company, even though he never mentions them by name.

According to the video above, Eli McCann needed to have two windows in his home replaced, and decided to give a call to a local window salesman to get a quote on the replacement. He then goes on to explain the odd interaction he had with the two men, who then showed up to talk with him.

The first red flag was when one of the salesmen said that the company has a three-window minimum, and that McCann would need to choose another window to have repaired. When McCann explained that he didn’t need a third window replaced, and that the conversation should end there to avoid wasting anyone’s time, the salesman went back on what he said, saying they could do the two windows.

The second red flag came when the salesman asked for nearly two hours of McCann’s time just to show a presentation about the history of the company before even getting to the windows that they provide. If that wasn’t enough, the salesman almost refused to leave without getting a handshake agreement from McCann, which he refused to do due to the sheer peculiarity of the situation.

Fortunately, the salesmen did end up leaving, but not before leaving a sour taste in McCann’s mouth that he took to social media. He never once names the company, though commenters were quick to discover it.

Reactions to Odd Window Salesman Encounter in Utah

Various comments pointed to how strange the story was, with many poking fun at it as a whole. One person wrote, “What a pane,” while another comment read, “before you get your bid, you must answer these riddles 3.”

Others were more focused on the fact that the window salesman appeared at all, with one of the top comments stating, “I work in construction. If a company has a salesperson come to your house to sell you their product, never go with that company. You want to talk to the guy who’s going to do the work.“

As of right now, there are still comments being left under the video, with more people sharing their experiences and frustrations alike.
