A Georgia delivery driver went to a job to help a woman move her old fridge out of her house. However, upon arrival, he discovered that “her refrigerator was still packed” with her food. He decided to leave. Because of this, the woman tried to fight back and do whatever she could to make them stay and help.
Dan (@deliverydantheman) had a date and time lined up to pick up a customer’s refrigerator so they could help her install the new one. Dan gave her a call before he arrived. However, upon arriving at her house, she noticed the customer was on her computer and there was still food in the fridge. They couldn’t move out the old fridge when it was filled with food. He called dispatch and received clearance to leave. However, the woman wasn’t about to let Dan leave easily.
In Dan’s video, you can see the desperate woman trying to block him from leaving in his delivery truck. She tells him that she had “fresh food” she didn’t want to lose and was waiting until the last minute to remove it from her fridge. However, that would waste precious time that Dan needed because he had other work to do that day. He even called and gave her an ETA so she would know he was arriving. She fights back, claiming he was “late” to their appointment and it wasn’t her fault.
Dan starts pulling away from her mid-conversation, clearly done with this conversation. Someone tries to hold her back but she keeps chasing after his vehicle. She begs Dan to give her “clear next steps” for when he can return to help her with her fridge dilemma. The woman asks, “When is someone gonna come deliver this?” as she picks up speed to keep up with Dan. He tries to get her to turn around and says, “Your husband is calling you.” Then, he tells her he’s done dealing with the situation. He says, “Home Depot can answer your question at this point. This is way past the delivery.” The last thing he hears from her as he pulls away is, “You’re insane!”
The video immediately sparked reactions from viewers. Many commenters agreed that Dan made the right decision to abandon services and leave. One commenter mentioned, “Team delivery driver. He’s got 15-20 stops per route. He can’t wait.” Another commenter said they recently had a new fridge delivered. They stated, “I had my refrigerator ready and unplugged the night before. It’s all about preparation.”
Others clearly had judgmental comments to make toward the angry customer. One commenter quipped, “Apparently the original paperwork, 4 emails, 6 text messages, and 3 phone calls weren’t enough for her to get prepared.” Commenters continue to share their reactions and comments about not wasting people’s time during work hours.
