A mother is facing backlash online after she kept encouraging her son to steal pieces of 3D street art displayed on the streets in New York. The video quickly went viral, with many viewers criticizing her for encouraging the child to take something that did not belong to them.

The situation began after the mom shared a video of her son taking a piece of 3D art that had been attached to a tree. According to the comments, these small 3D artworks are displayed throughout the streets of New York for the public to enjoy, not to be removed. In the video, the mother filmed her son climbing over a barrier surrounding the tree and taking the artwork. She explained that he had been doing this whenever he spotted one. She also said that it had become like a treasure hunt for him.

After the mother shared the initial video, many viewers criticized her for allowing her son to take the artwork. Several people urged her to leave the pieces where they were so others could enjoy them as intended. Rather than changing her approach, the mother doubled down. She posted several more videos showing her son taking additional 3D art whenever he came across it. In another clip, she showed him displaying the collection of pieces he had removed from their original locations.

The mother went on to share several more videos showing her son doing the same thing. In some clips, he could be seen climbing trees and other structures to reach the displayed artwork. Despite the backlash, the mother did not apologize and instead continued encouraging her son to collect the pieces. At one point, she made her videos private. However, she later returned them and added more videos of her son taking more pieces of the 3D art. It is unclear whether she plans to have him return the artwork or whether he intends to keep it.

Viewers Criticize Mom After Her Son Steals New York 3D Art

The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers criticized the mother for allowing her son to take the 3D artwork from the streets of New York. They argued that she should have stopped him rather than encouraging the behavior. “You’re not supposed to take them,” one person wrote. The mother replied, “Why they mad tho!” Another commenter responded, “bc your taking the joy away from other people that want to see them.”

More people criticized the mother, arguing that she was setting a bad example for her son. “Teaching him the world is just there and he can take what he wants. You’re not supposed to take them,” one person wrote. Another commenter sarcastically said, “Love when we don’t teach our kids to respect others’ work and to just leave things alone! He’s gonna be a super fun teenager and adult!”

The video sparked a conversation about the importance of teaching children to respect other people’s property and not take items that are not theirs. It also started a discussion about how the actions of a few individuals can diminish shared public experiences that are meant to be enjoyed by everyone.
