There are many things to see in Iowa, but among the most popular, especially in Ames, is Reiman Gardens. Several people have gone to this place to see its beauty, take pictures, and enjoy time with others. Most importantly, however, they’ve also visited to see Elwood. And while the good old gnome has been one of the main attractions for years, a new baby gnome has joined the family, and it seems that some residents aren’t that impressed with it.
For those who don’t know, Reiman Gardens in Ames, Iowa, unveiled the new baby gnome to join the family. As you know, Elwood was the sole gnome attraction for a while, but now we have a new member who will likely get the attention of many.
The truth is that it has already become famous, but not in the ways some were hoping. As you can see from the post above, people have received the new baby gnome with mixed reactions, with some believing it isn’t that cute. Instead, they have labeled the poor whimsical creature as scary, which is a bit unexpected for some.
After its official reveal a few days ago, people have been flooding social media with different reactions. Some residents think it is cute and a good addition alongside Elwood. However, others believe that the baby gnome doesn’t look cute at all and have used other words to describe the poor concrete newcomer.
Iowa Residents Label Baby Gnome as ‘Nightmare Fuel’
The sad reality is that many Ames citizens have criticized the new addition to Reiman Gardens, calling it scary. Some people even went to Reddit to share their thoughts about it, and they aren’t as supportive as you may think.
“That is compressed liquid nightmare fuel. Looks like the kind of thing that comes alive at night and eats that confetti around it. Then, it ventures out for more interesting things.“
“According to a family member who works at Reiman, it used to look much worse. Apparently, this is the “fixed” version. I get married there in a couple of weeks and definitely will be getting pictures with the creepy baby gnome.“
Others, however, saw this as an opportunity and started sharing ideas about a possible horror movie starring the infamous baby gnome.
“Movie idea: town installs baby gnome statue in local park, and a sudden rash of unsolved disappearances happens at the nearby university. Potential title: Lawn of the Dead.“
Movie ideas aside, people seem unhappy about the baby gnome and think it will scare some people away, as it gives off uncanny valley vibes.
