An ICE agent in New Jersey is facing public backlash after she danced in front of protesters while transporting detainees.

The landscape of federal immigration enforcement in America has seen a notable shift toward community-based operations, leading to a steady rise in street arrests by ICE. Rather than relying primarily on jail or prison custody pickups, a larger portion of these operations now take place in public spaces and residential neighborhoods.

This increased visibility has drawn sharp community pushback, frequently resulting in tense demonstrations where protesters directly confront or monitor ICE personnel during these field operations. These interactions have turned local neighborhoods into frequent flashpoints, as protesters regularly gather to disrupt enforcement actions, film the encounters, and actively challenge the presence of ICE in their communities.

ICE agent joyfully dances along to music on the radio—as she drives 7 detainees to be locked up in private prison.

"You think dancing offends us?" said filmer.

"What offends us is that you're literally trafficking human beings right now!"

A video showed an ICE agent at Delany Hall in Newark, New Jersey dancing inside her vehicle as protesters confronted her. In the video, a protester standing outside the agent’s van was filming her. The ICE agent sat inside the car, played loud music, danced, and kept ignoring the protesters outside.

As the agent kept dancing, the protester filming her said, “You think that offends us? What offends us is that you’re literally trafficking human beings right now.” Despite the protester talking to her, the agent simply kept dancing. It was alleged that the ICE agent was doing so while having seven detainees in her van that she was going to transport. The video ended then and it’s not clear what happened next.

Viewers Outraged After New Jersey ICE Agent Dances

The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers were outraged over how the New Jersey ICE agent acted. They believed it was heartless. “This ICE is paid piece work, she’s laughing all the way to the bank. We need to hold Congress accountable, this is not legal, as it shouldn’t be allowed,” one person wrote. Another person said, “Imagine being this happy about capturing POC and sending them to filthy detention facilities when you’re a POC yourself. Unbelievable.”

More people criticized the agent and ICE agents in general. “Can’t wait for her and all ICE pricks time to come for them. Even might be up for re opening alligator Alcatraz just for them, if their budget has just enough to open it, lock them up and leave them to fend on their own,” one person wrote. Another person said, “Black people hating on Hispanic people is some [expletive] up stuff. Apparently racism is only bad if it’s directed at her.”

The video sparked a conversation regarding the conduct of ICE agents during demonstrations and how certain behaviors can be perceived as heartless by the public. It also led to broader discussions about the increasing frequency of confrontations between enforcement personnel and protesters, as well as the speed with which these encounters spread online.
