Judas, one of RPG fans’ most anticipated games made by BioShock‘s Ken Levine, is still nowhere in sight four years after its reveal. Now, even a well-known industry figure and insider bluntly said it may never arrive. The comment came in Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier’s own YouTube video exploring why Hollow Knight: Silksong took seven years to ship.

In the comments, one viewer joked, “Can’t wait for the video ‘Why JUDAS took 30 years to make.'” Responding to it, Schreier didn’t mince words. “Presumptive to think Judas will ever actually come out,” he replied. A rather blunt assessment, no doubt, but not exactly an unfounded one.

Judas is supposed to be the first game released by Ghost Story Games, Levine’s own studio. As well as his first release since 2013’s BioShock Infinite and the Burial at Sea DLC. The FPS RPG was revealed at The Game Awards 2022, promising a spiritual successor to BioShock‘s heavy narrative with Levine’s signature sci-fi and ‘immersive sim’ elements.

Since then, however, the supposed plan has slipped over and over again. Parent company Take-Two’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, said in 2023 that Judas would be playable by the end of March 2025. A date that obviously has come and gone in a flash.

Why Hollow Knight: Silksong Took Seven Years To Make

More recently, a May 2026 leak from an insider suggested the game might not arrive until Take-Two’s FY28/29 fiscal window, around April 2027 and March 2029. Funny enough, around the same time, Levine told IGN that Judas was getting ‘towards the end process.’ To make matters worse, Take-Two’s latest financial report appears to suggest the game has indeed slipped into that same leaked window.

Schreier’s comment might’ve been made in jest since he doesn’t elaborate further when pressed by his viewers. Still, all things considered, it read less like a hot take and more like a natural conclusion. Until Ghost Story Games finally puts a release date on the calendar, fans will likely keep treating Judas as the next Silksong.
