Many of us have been eagerly waiting for a release date for Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, and after a lot of waiting and speculation, we finally have one. Today, Cold Iron Studios has announced that this co-op sequel will launch on August 25. But that’s not all. The studio also unveiled an action-packed trailer and even a couple of DLC packs, all of them inspired by some of the franchise’s classic movies, and one of the most recent ones we’ve seen in the Xenomorph universe.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Sets Its Release Date for August 25
To get the big news out first, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 lands on August 25 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and Epic Games. Beyond that, we also got information about its cost. The game’s standard edition will cost $49.99, while the 40th Anniversary Premium Edition will cost $69.99 and includes several DLC packs featuring items from the series’ movies.
The first DLC is Ripley’s Hive Exterminator Pack, including Ripley’s outfit from Aliens, her pulse rifle, and items to customize your class. The next DLC pack is Herk Mondo’s Pest Pack, featuring an outfit and a pulse rifle, too, and lastly, Rain Jackson’s Star Pack, bringing several items from Romulus to the game, including an outfit, a weapon with an underbarrel, and more.
While all of the above are included in the Premium Edition, it seems players will be able to get them as an upgrade, which costs $19.99.
So far, it seems pre-orders haven’t opened yet, but the majority of the community had been asking for a release date for Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, and they finally have it.
If you haven’t kept up with the sequel, we recently covered some of the preview reactions to the game’s horde mode, and so far, all of them have been extremely positive. Those who loved the first game’s horde mode will have a blast in this one, as it has revamped several of its aspects while also keeping the iconic chaos from its predecessor.
Now, we only hope that Cold Iron Studios will keep launching class showcases, as we’ve already seen a few of them in action and can’t wait to see how the others play. So, remember to mark that calendar, get that pulse rifle ready, and bring your buddies into another Xenomorph-and-Synthetic-riddled co-op adventure that isn’t far away from landing.
