A crowd gathered at a South Carolina book signing expecting to get books signed and meet the author. Instead, a video now spreading on X shows one attendee having an unexpected reaction that has sparked plenty of discussion online.

Woman starts shaking uncontrollably after meeting ‘Apostle’ Kathryn Krick, an accused cult leader from Los Angeles.

The incident happened at a book signing event in South Carolina.

Kathryn Krick, a 35-year-old self-described “apostle” and lead pastor of 5F Church in Los Angeles, has been touring the country to promote her book, Ignite Revival. Her stop in Greenville, South Carolina, was part of a nationwide tour that has already included Houston, Louisville and New York.

In the video shared on X, a woman wearing a green top walks up to Krick’s table and begins shaking just moments after interacting with her. As the woman continues shaking, Krick repeatedly says, “Thank you, Jesus, thank you, Jesus,” before declaring, “I speak total freedom now, total freedom now.” At the same time, people around them gather to pray.

Text added to the video claims, “God’s power came upon her,” reflecting how Krick and her supporters have described similar moments during other stops on the book tour.

The incident is similar to one that happened earlier this month at Krick’s book signing in Houston. According to the Daily Mail, a video from that event showed another woman shaking, with her torso jerking and her knees giving way before people helped lower her to the floor.

Krick later described the event as a “revival,” saying attendees were “set free” and “received impartation.” She has said that the physical reactions observed during her book tour are signs of God’s power at work in ordinary places, including bookstores.

Internet Reacts to South Carolina Deliverance Video

The clip drew a wave of skepticism online. One commenter wrote, “That is truly bad acting. She looks like she went full retard.” Another joked, “That happened to me when I went for my first prostate exam. Can totally relate!” A third compared the scene to something riskier, writing, “Might as well be dancing with rattle snakes.”

Some questioned whether the woman was compensated for her reaction. “Wonder how much they paid her to go around all the bookstores and act like she’s got underwear full of angry bees,” one person wrote. Another was more pointed about motive, arguing, “These are the people that do anything for attention. Usually they’re the play the perpetual victim even when getting called out on BS like this.”

Krick, who describes herself as an apostle despite having no formal theological training, has faced increasing criticism from some Christian commentators over her ministry and its practices.

According to ChurchLeaders, some Christian critics have argued that the dramatic physical reactions seen at her events could influence or manipulate followers.

The outlet also reported that Krick has said she received her authority to perform deliverance ministry from someone she calls Prophet GeorDavie.

For now, the South Carolina video has become the latest example in an ongoing debate over whether the physical reactions seen at her book signings are genuine spiritual experiences or performances for the camera.
