If you’re an Xbox Series X owner with a gaming PC, you might want to check your Ubisoft Connect library. XBOX just announced it’s handing out free PC copies of 13 different Ubisoft games. Yes, that means your console purchase now can be downloaded as a PC version at no extra cost.
According to the official announcement, both companies have expanded their partnership and added more Ubisoft games for the XBOX PC App. Now Microsoft’s answer to Steam should include recent, high-profile releases such as Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws. To promote this move, XBOX PC app users can claim these 13 games to their account:
- Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
- Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
- Far Cry 6.
- Immortals Fenyx Rising.
- Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
- Riders Republic.
- Skull and Bones.
- The Crew 2.
- The Crew Motorfest.
- Rainbow Six Extraction.
- Rainbow Six Siege.
- Watch Dogs Legion.
There’s good news for DLC owners too. Most Editions, Season Passes, and add-on content you already own on Xbox will transfer to the PC version without any extra charge. The only exceptions are microtransaction items, such as premium currency. Games that support cross-progression should also let you pick up where you left off, assuming your accounts on both services have been linked.
Starting from July 28, you’ll automatically get both Xbox and PC versions when buying any of those 13 games on a console. Hopefully, this will apply to future Ubisoft releases as well. But if you haven’t seen them pop up in your library, don’t panic just yet. Microsoft says the free PC licenses are rolling out in phases and should reach everyone by August 4.
To claim your games, make sure you have already updated to the latest version of Ubisoft Connect on PC. The supported games should appear in your library automatically during the rollout period. Just remember that it doesn’t work the other way around. So yeah, no free games for your Xbox Series X if you bought them on PC first.
