Self-Proclaimed Florida Evangelist Removed From Flight After Preaching To Passengers: ‘She’s Doing It On Purpose For Attention’

Turbulence, but make it spiritual

Florida-based evangelist Whitney Lynn didn’t just want to get from point A to point B. She wanted an audience, and on a recent Alaska Airlines flight, she got one, whether the people around her asked for it or not.

Lynn was removed from the flight after passengers reportedly complained about her loudly preaching mid-flight. She later posted the confrontation to TikTok, framing her removal as religious persecution rather than a response to unhappy passengers.

The self-proclaimed evangelist from Florida pushed back on airline staff throughout the exchange, at one point asking directly, “Is it against the law to preach the gospel?” She also described the situation as “spiritual warfare,” telling viewers that people feeling uncomfortable around her was proof of something bigger:

“That’s how you know there’s power in that name. Makes people feel unsafe.”

As she gathered her things and left the aircraft, Lynn kept addressing the cabin, saying, “God bless everybody. If you know Jesus today, make him Lord of your life and continue to spread the gospel.”

The confrontation didn’t end there.

She kept recording, questioning staff about why she’d been pulled from the flight. When an employee told her to call a number to get rebooked, she asked for his name before responding, “God have mercy on his soul. Because hell is real, my friend.”

She also asked the employee if he was from Puerto Rico, saying she was having trouble understanding him.

Internet Reacts to Florida Evangelist’s Removal From Flight

The clip sparked plenty of debate online, with some viewers accusing Lynn of manufacturing the moment and others simply exhausted by the whole encounter. One commenter argued, “She’s doing it on purpose for attention and in hopes she can make viral videos. It’s just what our society is anymore, it’s sad.” Another imagined the passenger’s side of things: “Lady, does it look like I wanna talk Jesus with you here and now?” A third didn’t hold back on her home state: “She’s from Florida. I’m shocked.”

Someone else pointed out the irony of her comments toward the employee: “She’d feel unsafe if anyone even spoke a different language.” One more summed up the restraint on display: “How no one told her to stfu is actually god-like.”

Lynn isn’t new to preaching on planes. She has previously described flights as a “captive audience” for her sermons, telling the Washington Post that passengers “have no choice but to hear the truth.”
