While it may not seem like it, cooking and growing ingredients are a big part of Beast of Reincarnation, as they provide Emma and Koo with some nice bonuses before heading out of the Cleanse Walker. And while all the facilities are there from the start, the game doesn’t tell you when or how you’ll unlock them. Well, don’t fret; here we’ll show you how to unlock cooking in Beast of Reincarnation, as well as how to grow your own ingredients inside your base.
Unlocking Cooking in Beast of Reincarnation
Cooking will become available for you as you progress through the main story; if you don’t mind spoilers, it is when Kagura wakes up. After she wakes up and you go through some flashback sequences, you’ll be able to start cooking, or rather, Kagura will.
Once cooking is available, you can approach Kagura, and you’ll notice two new menus: Cooking and Grow Research. Here, you’ll have to select what you want Kagura to do. She will either research new recipes (provided you found the manual first) or research how to grow crops, which also requires a manual. Keep in mind that if you select either of them, Kagura will research all available items in that category.
With the meals available, you’ll have to select one before you go to bed inside the base, and you’ll get a first-time bonus for eating any of the meals. If there’s one specific meal you want, just make sure to bring the ingredients back to the Cleanse Walker.
How to Grow Ingredients
Lastly, you can also grow your ingredients in Beast of Reincarnation, which will be used solely for cooking. To grow them, you’ll need to find either seedlings or fertilized eggs. The former go inside the Grow Chamber and will grow as you complete certain actions in the game. For the eggs, you need to make sure you have a fertilized egg that will hatch a chicken, which will eventually lay eggs. Kagura will collect all ingredients, but you can also pick them up when you arrive back at the Walker.
While it is yet another system to keep track of, it isn’t too hard to do, as most of it happens while you’re playing. If you want a specific crop, make sure to buy the seed from a merchant or look for it around the map.
