A Minnesota woman was approached by a neighborhood Karen about the state of her family’s home. Instead of showing real concern, she used it as a way to tell the family that their house doesn’t meet the expected standard. This woman posted the interaction after she was left feeling appalled by the neighbor’s statements.
TikToker Ashley (@supa_gangsta) was approached by a Karen in her neighborhood about how her house looks. The woman has the audacity to ask if everything is okay “because this house used to be really well-maintained.” While she’s speaking, Ashley is watching her with her mouth hanging open. She’s absolutely shocked by the fact that a woman would say this to her about her own house.
The woman goes on to point out the aspects of Ashley’s home that are apparently unacceptable to her. She says, “The chairs are bent and broken and the table’s been out here forever. I just wanna make sure that everybody’s okay.” Ashley, knowing this woman is feigning concern and is just being a busybody, says, “Yeah. I just don’t understand.” The woman asks, “Understand why I would care? Because it’s so different from how it used to be. I’m just concerned.”
Ashley doesn’t say a thing as the Minnesota Karen rambles on and on about how she used to see a dog outside their house and doesn’t see it anymore. She keeps telling Ashley she just wanted to make sure that “everybody’s okay.” Ashley tells the woman, “I just think personally, like, everyone’s home is different.” She tries to explain that everybody maintains their home in their own way. Then, she lets out an annoyed laugh over the outrageousness of the situation.
Though Ashley’s video is still fairly new as it gains traction on social media, one Minnesota commenter stated how it should have been handled best. They told Ashley, “You entertained it too long. Just tell her to mind her business lol.” Ashley responded, “I wanted to hear more of what the Karen said lol!” The video continues to gain attention on Ashley’s TikTok. It’s a good example of how to handle a situation when a neighbor is being particularly nosy or intrusive.
