Perez Hilton’s family finally received the update they had been desperately waiting for after an alarming livestream ended with the celebrity blogger being rushed from his Florida home to a hospital.
Hilton’s loved ones confirmed Wednesday night that he is now “able to communicate,” offering the first encouraging sign since authorities responded to the frightening mental-health crisis in Miami-Dade County.
“We have also been able to confirm that Perez is able to communicate, which has given our family hope,” the statement read.
The family admitted the ordeal had been “incredibly difficult and emotional,” made worse because they initially received very little confirmed information about Hilton’s condition.
They thanked supporters for the prayers, compassionate messages and concern that poured in before asking the public for continued patience as the 48-year-old recovers.
For now, the family is taking everything “one step at a time.”

The encouraging update arrived after Miami-Dade authorities responded to Hilton’s South Florida residence Tuesday night.
The sheriff’s office said it received multiple calls concerning a person livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media. Crisis-trained deputies worked to de-escalate the situation before safely transporting Hilton to a hospital for evaluation and medical care.
Authorities later confirmed that Hilton had been taken for an involuntary mental-health evaluation under Florida’s Baker Act.
The footage circulated online before TikTok removed it, but Hilton’s family has remained focused on his recovery rather than the disturbing images that sparked the emergency response.
“At this time, we do not have any additional confirmed information to share regarding Perez Hilton’s condition,” an earlier family statement explained.
That uncertainty made Wednesday’s communication update especially meaningful. Hilton’s ability to speak does not answer every question surrounding his condition, but it gave his loved ones their first clear reason to believe he is moving forward.
The family promised to share more information only when it has been confirmed and asked the public to extend “prayers, understanding, and grace” while Hilton continues receiving care.
