The black community on TikTok is criticizing a white Pennsylvania woman over the way she said the words “black girls” in a video.

The woman’s video went viral because of the way she said the words “black girls.” In the clip, she asked, “How much do you black girls pay for braids?” before continuing to discuss the expensive prices she had heard for braiding services. Many black women and other viewers from the black community believed that she placed unusual emphasis on “black girls” and said the phrase in an aggressive tone.

The situation quickly escalated as many black viewers criticized the woman in the comments. Some accused her of racism based on the way she delivered the phrase “black girls,” while others said they believed her tone was unnecessarily aggressive. Many viewers also posted their own response videos criticizing her and discussing why they found the wording and delivery offensive.

A black woman responded with a video expressing her anger, asking the Pennsylvania woman, “How much do you white [expletive] pay for coke and clip-ins?” In the caption, the creator also wrote, “I’m sick of EVERYBODY TODAY FR.”

Another black creator shared a video showing herself visiting the white woman’s TikTok account before blocking her. “The emphasis on black was crazy,” the creator wrote. A third creator argued that racist people, as well as those who are not accustomed to being around black people, place unusual emphasis on the word “black.” She also told the woman to “mind your business.” One commenter under the post added, “She’s being racist, sarcastic & passive aggressive.”

After facing significant backlash, the woman shared a video saying that she planned to respond to the criticism. She also said she was asking her black friends for advice on how to address the situation. The woman added that she had never used the “N-word” in her life.

Internet Divided Over White Pennsylvania Woman’s Video

The video sparked reactions online. Viewers were divided over how to interpret the Pennsylvania woman’s video and the way she said the words “black girls.” Some people believed she did not deserve the backlash and argued that she was simply asking an innocent question. “I mean we black im confused! What she said wrong?” one person asked. Another commenter said, “Is it a slur to say black now? She said it perfectly fine.”

On the other hand, many people criticized the woman and accused her of racism based on the way she pronounced the word “black.” “You just called me a N***** I FELT IT,” one person wrote. Another commenter said, “The way you said BLACK with the hard R upsets me.” The woman continued defending herself in the comments, writing, “I have crispy Rs guys I feel so bad.”

The video sparked a conversation about how a person’s tone or choice of words can sometimes be interpreted differently by viewers, particularly when discussing race. It also led to broader debate over what should warrant public backlash and what should instead be viewed as an innocent comment or misunderstanding.
