A New York Walmart employee is seeing outrage online after he was recorded being aggressive with a customer. He had accused her of stealing something from the store, and claimed had evidence of it
Posted by the customer’s husband, TikTok user JJFlamez1, with the caption, “Racist Walmart employee Falsely accuses innocent Hispanic.” The video starts mid-argument, with the Walmart employee asking to see the receipt, despite his alleged belligerence beforehand. The customer responds with, “No, I’m gonna wait for this trooper.”
The elderly employee then accuses her of not scanning items in her bag, as well as supposedly admitting to the theft. And this is all before he even asks to see the receipt. He even claims to have it on video. In the meantime, she refuses to give her ID to the man and tells him he’s about to feel really “silly” when police arrive.
Before police arrive, the woman pans the camera to herself and says, “They’re going to charge me with trespassing after stealing. I love it.” She winks at the camera, knowing exactly what’s about to go down. Because when police finally arrive, the officer checks the woman’s receipt.
In a wild twist, the officer says, “It looks like everything is accounted for.”
The customer sets the record straight saying, “Then he said he’s gonna hit me with trespassing. He wants me charged with trespassing” because she was recording on the Walmart premises. The officer doesn’t really want to hear any of his nonsense. She asks, “Is there any more issue here?” The woman was free to go.
The Online Reaction to the Customer’s Encounter with a Rude Walmart Employee
Some agreed with JJFlamez1 in the comments, arguing that the elderly man was being racially motivated. The Walmart employee saw very little support in the comment section. “Hatred is all in his eyes,” one commenter wrote.
“Why do they constantly do this to women of color? He wouldn’t have done this to a man,” wrote another. They also argued you didn’t have to show a receipt at Walmart.
One defender of the employee said, “Why couldn’t you just show him the receipts.” This got a response from the OP, wherein he claimed the man had only asked “prior to the threats and accusations,” of which they weren’t found guilty of by a police officer.
A viewer suggested JJFlamez1 sue, which the OP gave a Like on TikTok. At this time there is no update video on whether or not the couple is seeking legal advice.
