A woman in Cleveland, Ohio, who is currently waiting for her wedding, was shocked to learn that a random stranger had messaged her fiancé and sent him a screenshot of her wedding dress. Her attempt to ruin the wedding and spoil the surprise was unsuccessful, and she was rightfully called out for it.
The upsetting story was shared on TikTok by Katie Clark. She is the watercolor artist behind Chitin & Chlorophyll, and often shares her work online with her followers. The clip attached above, while not art-related, went viral, garnering 859,900 views, 113,700 likes, and more than 2,300 comments.
The Ohio woman started strong. She directly called out a woman apparently named Sandra, who she says messaged her fiancé, Liam, and sent him a screenshot of her wedding dress that she took from TikTok. Katie, however, called Sandra “stupid” because of a simple miscalculation on her part.
“When you DM someone you’re not friends with on Facebook, it automatically censors any images you send,” Katie said. She then showed Sandra’s DM, which read, “Hello, just thought you’d want to see your fiancé’s wedding dress.” The photo, as Katie said, was blurred.
Katie, not Liam, unblurred the photo and confirmed that it was, in fact, a screenshot from one of her TikToks. She admitted that it was her fault for sharing a video featuring her wedding dress with her followers. According to her, “people on the internet are crazy,” so she decided to spend some time addressing Sandra directly.
“I would say, have a bad day. But I think based on the fact that you are taking time out of your day to find random strangers’ fiancés and send them screenshots of their TikToks of their wedding dress, that you’re probably already having a bad day. And that most of your days are quite bad. So I hope things continue on that trajectory for you,” Katie said.
Social Media Reactions
The video sparked multiple reactions online, mostly from viewers who blasted Sandra for her attempt to ruin Katie’s wedding dress for Liam. One asked, “Why are people this mean?” Another one said, “Sandra was always the bridesmaid and never the bride.”
Other viewers warned the Ohio woman that Sandra might be closer to her than she imagines. One commented, “The enemy is closer than you think. That’s someone who knows and hates you in real life.” Another one wrote, “She is definitely not a stranger.”
In a follow-up clip, Katie shared that it appeared that Sandra was, in fact, a random stranger. Liam also appeared on camera, saying that she doesn’t blame Katie for sharing her wedding dress online.
