A Georgia man got a front seat to the unveiling of a horror movie, right beside his home. Specifically, a ghastly-looking figure appeared on one of his trail cameras, 200 yards from his house. Posting to r/trailcam, Reddit user Individual-Lawyer389 shared photos of what looked like someone in a gown standing behind a tree, with their head slightly tilted at the camera.
“Am I crazy or is this a person??” Individual-Lawyer exclaimed, asking Reddit for a proper answer as to what the nightmare-inducing figure is by his house. “That is definitely a person,” confidently remarked a commenter. “Looks like what used to be a person,” chillingly added a second.
In response to someone asking for a photo of the same location and tree during the day, Individual-Lawyer shared photos in a different post. It wasn’t an optical illusion because of the dark: something was behind that tree that night.
While no one could deny that the figure looked disturbingly scary and freaky, several people believe it could have been a deer. “It looks like a person, except for the hoof where the foot should be,” pointed out a person. Others chimed in, saying it could have been a deer standing on its hind legs reaching for something above.

“It’s an animal standing up. That’s why the thighs look so big and legs so skinny. Most likely a deer standing up and eating something,” wrote a Redditor. Several more say OP should have a gun ready, regardless of whether it’s a person or animal. “I’ll throw my bible at it if the bullets don’t work, he laughed in response.
One ideal thing that Individual-Lawyer could do would be to check around for hoof prints around that tree, which would verify at least whether a deer had been there. Not to mention, OP did mention a spike buck walked through the same spot an hour later. Though he has yet to update Redditors on any confirmations as to its identity.
All that being said, regardless of whether the homeowner manages to uncover the mystery behind the trail cam’s photo, one thing is certain: Many Redditors might have had trouble sleeping after seeing that.
