A restaurant in Denver, Colorado, has been facing criticism on the popular social media platform TikTok seemingly because of a dress code that they’ve recently enforced. The restaurant allegedly told a customer that they could not enter with facial tattoos.

Many viewers were confused by the idea of turning someone away from a casual pizza restaurant because of tattoos in the first place, especially in Denver. However, just as many seemed baffled that the group went through the trouble of covering the tattoos instead of simply taking their money elsewhere.

The video shows the man’s friend carefully applying makeup over the tattoos covering portions of his face after he was denied entry to Happy Camper. The group apparently decided that concealing the tattoos was the easiest way to comply with the restaurant’s rules and continue with their plans for the night.

Happy Camper is a pizza restaurant and bar located in Denver’s LoHi neighborhood. The restaurant describes itself as a destination for pizza, cocktails, parties, and large gatherings, complete with a large outdoor patio, while its current website also outlines several entry restrictions for younger guests on weekends.

Interestingly, OpenTable currently describes the restaurant’s dress code as “Casual dress, comfortable, informal clothing is appropriate for a visit to Happy Camper.” There is no mention of tattoos on either the restaurant’s website or OpenTable page.

The TikTok doesn’t appear to be the first time that someone has complained about tattoos creating problems at the door.

Comments and Reactions to Denver Man Being Denied Entry Over Face Tattoos

Many of the commenters under the video were confused by the situation, with many questioning why tattoos would prevent someone from eating at a pizza restaurant. One person wrote, “Being denied service because of a tattoo at a PIZZA restaurant is insane.” Similarly, another user wrote, “Denver, Colorado??? It’s heavily tatted there, tf?“

However, others were more focused on why the man still wanted to go inside afterwards. A user wrote, “Denver, Colorado??? It’s heavily tatted there, tf?” Two other commenters felt similarly, writing, “I would walk away brother. If they can’t accept me for who I am, they don’t deserve my money,” and “Im sure a maga hat is welcomed though.”

With thousands of comments continuing to pile onto the TikTok, the restaurant’s tattoo police, and the group’s decision to cover it up and go inside anyway have given viewers plenty to talk about.
