Florida Rep. Randy Fine attacked Tucker Carlson during an interview, questioning whether Americans still watch the conservative commentator. Fine said online clicks and views should not be mistaken for political power. He then claimed Carlson’s audience was mostly made up of “third world America haters.” The remarks drew immediate pushback from self-identified American viewers.

Tucker Carlson is an idiot and a weirdo with a drug-infused mind.

His audience is not American.

They’re from Pakistan, Turkey, and Iran — people who hate this country.

Fine framed his criticism around what he said his election taught him about online influence. He argued that people often “conflate clicks” and views with actual power.

Fine said likes and clicks from Pakistan, Turkey or Iran did not matter in the same way. He then questioned whether Carlson still had a meaningful American audience.

“I don’t know that any Americans actually watch him anymore,” Fine said. “I think it is mostly these third world America haters.”

He also dismissed Carlson’s political influence, claiming every candidate Carlson endorsed had lost. Fine called him an “idiot” and a “weirdo” before saying people should simply ignore him.

Randy Fine Faces Pushback Over Tucker Carlson Audience Claim

Fine’s characterization of Carlson’s audience quickly drew challenges from users identifying themselves as Americans.

“His audience is absolutely American,” one user wrote. Another responded, “I’m pretty sure I’m an American and not from Turkey Pakistan or Iran.”

A Florida resident added, “Born and raised in Florida and I watch Tucker all the time.” Another wrote, “I’m American. I love this country. I’m his audience. Sit down.”

Other responses were more receptive to Fine’s criticism. One user wrote, “There are a lot of people posting as America First that side with Tucker. When you start looking closely at these people, you’re correct, they’re from Bot Farms.”

Another criticized Carlson directly, writing, “@TuckerCarlson set the new world record for humanity’s fastest fall from respected thought leader to dangerously stupid sell out.”

The dispute leaves Fine’s claim about Carlson’s American audience at the center of the backlash.
