Two children are having the time of their lives at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida when they meet a beloved mascot. But what should have been their moment turns annoying and frustrating when an adult tries to intervene. Luckily, the mascot wasn’t about to have it and made it clear they needed personal space.
Shira (@fureverwanderer) was with her children at Florida’s Universal Resort. Suddenly, they saw a mascot dressed as Ygor from the Frankenstein film series. Excited, the children approached him to talk and take photos. The mascot was more than happy to appease the children and get photos with them. But suddenly, an adult tries to ruin all the fun by approaching and trying to get in their way.
Shira records the moment when the adult films right in Ygor’s face, and the actor lightly pushes her camera out of the way. The children were trying to “have a conversation” with Ygor, according to this mom, and the adult kept ruining the moment. Ygor speaks with the adult briefly, telling them that he needs her to give them “personal space.” But the adult keeps trying to take his photo until he guides her back away from him.
Shira said that she posted this TikTok as a reminder to “respect these characters or else we may not have these interactions anymore.” She said she worries for the character actor’s safety because of these annoying fans. It’s clear the situation irritated the actor, who was just trying to give these children a good experience.
Commenters immediately reacted to Shira’s video, showing their irritation toward the adult who chose to get in the actor’s face. One commenter asked, “Why do ppl always try to take advantage during a child’s moment? You’re an ADULT. WAIT YOUR TURN.” Another mentioned, “The phone in the face is crazy.” Another added, “These people do not see other people as human beings.”
One commenter even shared their own personal experience at Universal. They shared, “A friend and I were talking with Invisible Man and this guy interrupted. Invisible Man turned on him so fast with ‘Can’t you see we’re having a conversation? You’re being rude.’ And then went right back to speaking with up like nothing happened. Rude guy left after that and looked embarrassed.” Commenters continue to share their opinions on the mistreatment of actors and adults’ behavior at these themed parks.
